I got my Covid Relief check last week, and the first thing I did was to take my car into the mechanic’s for a check up. It was very quickly getting scary to drive and sat in the driveway for a month before the check came. That check engine light I mentioned in November. It was a heating sensor that only comes on for the first 30 seconds that the car is running. So no worries there. The random shimmy and popping noises were a couple things. The CV joint on the passenger side needed to be replaced. Brakes are ok but need to be replaced soon, with a possible caliper stuck. The tires are worn and need to be at the very least rotated and the wheels need realignment. So we fixed the most critical the CV joint. Brakes will be looked at and fixed, tires will be rotated and aligned, after I get my first retirement check. (soon I hope). Next I just have to decide where I want to go when all is fixed, so that I feel safe driving long distances again. Right now we are back to hiking in the canyon and up the buttes. I am so hoping that we can hit a few trails this summer in the cascades. As far as trips go, now I am thinking going East.
I lost my photos of the painted hills in a swap over from my old laptop to the external hard drive and what I have left are on this website or in my note cards file. So that is on my list. I have a better idea of where to go. I would also like to go further east and see the fossil bends. I also want to drive highway 20 from Bend to Idaho. I am thinking maybe fort rock….
and I want to go west when the snow is melted on the pass allowing me access to the McKenzie river area
and the Santiam area on highway 20.
Did I mention I want to drive highway 20 to the coast and Newport this summer?
Come June I will be ready for a trip into Eugene to SEE family, I haven’t seen in more than a year, and to stock up the freezers, with some choice berries and veggies. Strawberries Blackberries Blueberries Corn Beans Broccoli …
You are definitely looking up 2021 and I am looking forward to greeting you….. After I get my Covid Vaccine shot.
